Welcome to AlphaReturns. The quarterly investment newsletter for individual investors, certified financial planners, and financial advisors who are looking for professional, institutional level results.
- Who are we and what do we offer? Our parent company, Institutional Investment Research LLC is a private economic research firm engaged in global economic research. AlphaReturns is a wholly owned subsidiary that shares this global economic insight along with various model portfolio allocations via a quarterly newsletter priced at only $40 per year (subscribe now).
- What is our track record? Our model portfolios have significantly outperformed the S&P 500 since inception in 2007. (see performance) Our archive of free reports and past newsletters allows you to read what we were saying about the economy and markets back in 2007 and 2008 before the financial crisis happened. Excerpts from our January 2008 newsletter:

-"Significant slowdown in US economy in 2008 with recession mid-year"

-"Global credit and financial crisis will get worse in 2008"

-"Financial sector losses will be more than double the savings and loan crisis"

-"Top mortgage underwriters Bear Stearns, Merrill, Lehman, BOA, and Citi will trade below book"

-"Reducing exposure to US and Foreign Stocks due to recession and poor earnings outlook"

-"2008 is a year for caution and defensive investing"
- What is our methodology? Was your portfolio positioned cautiously going into 2008? If not, your portfolio is probably still 20% below its 2007 peak. We use a disciplined, long term approach based on economic data and market cycle analysis. Our key investment principles:

- Invest using low cost index style exchange traded funds and/or mutual funds

- Invest in asset classes only if valuations are attractive relative to historical long term trends

- Analyze long term asset valuation trends in various currencies including gold as a currency

- Diversify into as many uncorrelated asset classes as valuation analysis will allow
